Kevin Messner joined AHAM in 2008 as Vice President, Government Relations. Messner is responsible for directing and implementing AHAM’s legislative, regulatory, political and grassroots programs. He plays a key role in advancing AHAM’s positions on public policy issues. Prior to joining AHAM, Kevin served as Associate Administrator of the Office of Congressional & Intergovernmental Affairs at the U.S. General Services Administration. In his role, he was the chief senior executive manager responsible for all aspects of GSA’s communications and coordination with Congress and state/local governments. Kevin worked in Congress for nearly 10 years, ending as Chief of Staff for U.S. Rep. Jim Kolbe, Chairman of the Foreign Operations Appropriations subcommittee. Kevin’s private sector experience includes working as an engineer with General Motors. Kevin earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin in Madison and an MBA in International Finance from the Thunderbird School of Global Management.
