The home appliance industry is truly global. Through export and import trade and world-wide manufacturing operations, the industry depends upon a level playing field in the international marketplace. AHAM is involved with a variety international regulations and legislation involving environmental issues, standards, product/substance bans and product recycling. Our current focus includes the following:
Mexico Energy Display RequirementsOn September 10, 2010, the Catalogue of Standards for Energy Efficiency and Standby Power of Appliances was published in the Official Journal of the Federation requiring new appliances that require energy to operate to clearly and visibly show energy consumption by unit of time.
