AHAM Product Certification Programs
Information for Consumers
AHAM tests and certifies home appliances, including room air conditioners, dehumidifiers and room air cleaners. Since 1967, we've used independent labs to test products, and then provide certified manufacturers with a Seal to be used on product packaging. This makes certified products easier to recognize.
Manufacturers voluntarily participate in the AHAM certification programs. AHAM uses an independent lab and a standardized test procedures, developed by AHAM and accepted by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). Products that are tested may then use an AHAM seal and be listed in the AHAM product directory. An independent laboratory regularly performs verification testing of certified products, to be sure that the products still perform at the certified levels.
