American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE)

ASHRAE is a professional society, open to any person associated with heating, ventilation, air conditioning or refrigeration (HVAC&R).  Membership in ASHRAE allows access to information about HVAC&R technology, and provides opportunities to participate in the development of standards related to the HVAC&R industry. Participation on technical committees, which advise the Society on research needs, emerging technologies, and technical matters, is also available.

AHAM participates as a member of various standards and technical committees related to home appliances, such as refrigerators, room air conditioners, and dehumidifiers.  AHAM staff keeps members informed of relevant activities related to these product areas and other relevant matters, such as indoor air quality and energy conservation standards.
