ASTM International

ASTM International is a member-based standards development organization that promulgates standard test methods, specifications, practices, classifications, and terminology in over 130 industrial segments.

AHAM’s specific interest within ASTM International is Committee F11 on Vacuum Cleaners.  This committee has jurisdiction over 28 standards related to the performance of vacuum cleaners, including cleanability, filtration efficiency, air performance characteristics, durability and reliability.

ASTM F11 meets twice a year, usually in April and October, with approximately 50 members attending over the 3 days of technical meetings. The majority of AHAM’s Floor Care Division members are active in ASTM F11.
