AHAM has long been a strong supporter of the ENERGY STAR® program for home appliances. The blue ENERGY STAR® label, which is given to appliances and other products that meet certain energy use requirements, is a familiar sight to consumers shopping for energy-efficient appliances.
ENERGY STAR is a voluntary program run by the U.S. federal government. It is intended to highlight appliances that meet certain efficiency criteria and are among the most efficient models available. AHAM supports ENERGY STAR and believes that participation in the program should remain voluntary, focused on energy efficiency and based on the energy conservation standards that are the foundation of the program.
